DIH-HERO Hubs continues the expansion and the consolidation of the network

In the second year of our project partners and hubs continue to build up an outstanding “Robotics in Healthcare” community. We are all focused on developing strategies that will help to reduce barriers and accelerate innovation to market.

For creating a clear and unique profile we advance with the development of our offers to the stakeholders. A great target for the next months is the development of a marketplace where matches between needs and offers are provided.

As ongoing topics the services by our networking partners are permanently expanded. A broad range is clustered in technology, business capital and incubation, certification and go to Market, testing facilities and test center, training and education services. For advice just contact the DIH-HERO innovation manager of your region that will support you in any question concerning our products, our network and your matches.

What’s new? DIH-HERO has made a first version of a service directory about healthcare robotics that can be found at https://services.dih-hero.eu.
To learn more about it, a webinar is scheduled which presents the services that our network offers and gives an overview of the open calls organized by DIHHERO. It will take place on Thursday March 26th, 10:00 – 11:30 (CET) and there will also be room for feedback to the project.

Agenda of the Webinar

• Short overview of DIH-HERO
• Presentation of the service that DIH-HERO wants to offer
• Go into more detail on some service examples
• Short overview of relevant standards for healthcare robotics

Another upcoming event for the DIH-HERO network is

  • On 23-24 April 2020, our Basque partner TECNALIA will make a workshop “Exoskeletons and Wearable Robots: current practice and future perspectives” in Bilbao, Spain. The goal is to facilitate the use of wearable robots and exoskeletons in different market and application areas. The event offers a unique opportunity to test wearable robotic devices, listen to leading experts, and receive first-hand experience feedback from different user areas.
If you are interested in how available devices can be implemented in your organisation, in following current trends and challenges and expanding professional networks come to Bilbao.

What makes a network is connecting and supplementing to create win/win situations as we did on the brokerage event in October 2019 at University Twente. We are proud that quiet some success stories are to be told about this first get together of the DIH-HERO community.

“The DIH HERO Brokerage Event at the University of Twente TechMed
Center was a great opportunity to pitch our start up company Machnet Medical Robotics to an international community of health robotics experts. During this two day event I connected with several potential partners for future product development and funding. The plenary lectures and parallel sessions that I was able to attend were all very inspiring. Our compliments to the organizers!“

Nico Arfman, CEO Machnet Medical Robotics

“The DIH Hero Brokerage Event was a great opportunity to get to know what is up in the Health Sector, thanks to a hundred plus tech. companies and health institutions offering their latest research, services and expertise. Also the fast pitching sessions gave us the opportunity to present Gogoa Mobility Robots and our CE Marked HANK exoskeleton for Rehabilitation to the wide audience and, in fact, afterwards several Institutions came to us to know more… As a result, we will submit a proposal to next call of Technology Demonstrator with one another complementary SME met at the event. For sure a very inspiring and fruitful event!”

Javi Finez – Co-founder Gogoa Mobility Robots

There is continuously something going on in our network. We are very proud that our partner POLIMI DEIB (Electronics, Information and Bioengineering Department) inaugurated the new spaces set up to house four of its research labs in the field of robotics and automotive control and smart vehicles.

The labs were presented to press and companies with the aim to promote research activities that take place at Politecnico di Milano. By such events we stimulate the interest of industry and general public for further collaborations. It was a great opportunity that Prof. G. Ferrigno from Politecnico di Milano presented DIH-HERO to a broad audience.
