Vee Mapunde is the Programme Director of the NIHR Surgical MedTech Co-operative based in Leeds, United Kingdom.  She is responsible for providing overall operations management for the programme, providing support for the Director and the Theme leads, as well as strategy implementation & translational project selection.  She has over ten years’ experience working pharmaceutical companies to deliver clinical research at the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network, where she was Industry Manager and worked with 14 NHS organisations across West Yorkshire, to develop and implement systems to support commercially sponsored clinical research.  Prior to this, Vee was responsible for implementing the EU Directive on Clinical Trials regulations at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and conducting Cochrane Systematic Reviews.  She has a BSc (Hons) in Technology and Management Sciences and a MSc in Leadership Management and Change in Health and Social Care from the University of Bradford.

Vee is keen to meet with individuals and organisations that are interested in working with the NIHR Surgical MedTech Co-operative for the purposes of technology development, clinical translation and evidence generation.

Vee is a qualified coach/mentor, and has experience helping individuals think creatively to come up with long term solutions to their problems and identify new opportunities that support their goals.

If she's not advocating for informed decision making and, you can find her spending lots of time volunteering with organisations that look after the welfare of children and young people, reading (history, archeology, materials science) and enjoying the experience that is nature with her daughter.
