Belgrade Robotics and Healthcare HUB

Belgrade Robotics and Healthcare Hub gathers research excellence, practical experience and business services focusing on robotics. It comprises of the leading Serbian research institution in robotics School of El. Eng. – ETF, Institute Mihajlo Pupin as the oldest European robotics lab, Faculty of Mech. Eng., and the infrastructure around ETF (ETF Innovation Center – ICEF, Business Incubator of Tech. Faculties – BITF, Science Technology Park Belgrade), and industry partners led by: ABB Serbia, Dillon Robotics, Siemens, etc.

This is us

We are proud of the tradition of so-called Belgrade School of Robotics which paved the way for the current level in biomechanics, rehabilitation, and humanoid robotics. Today, we gather leading Serbian robotics stakeholders to make a decisive push forward and strongly contribute to the overall competitiveness of the local/regional industry targeting robotics as a core technology in two main priority areas: industry and healthcare.

Physical Human-Robot Interaction and Collaborative Robotics

Physical human-robot interaction and collaborative robotics is the core expertise of our ETF Robotics lab, which design and control intrinsically safe robotic systems for collaborative tasks. The human-robot interaction and collaboration are built on the understanding of human activities, intentions and motor control abilities studied by ETF Biomedical Instrumentation and Technologies lab. Our research activities are paving the way to closed-loop impedance control, consequently bringing benefits to safer physical human-robot interaction, more skilled robots that exploit intrinsic elasticity and the better understanding of human impedance, that will all influence factories, hospitals and homes of the future.

„DIH-HERO network will facilitate connections and interaction between Serbian companies and researchers which have been developed on solid technical and medical education background with cutting edge European healthcare market and technologies. This will create opportunities for Serbian young engineers and doctors to impact the European healthcare system from their home country!“

Expertise in robotics and biomedical engineering shapes our mission to support local/regional hospitals, homes and factories with inherently safe and collaborative robots.

In collaboration with our partner clinics   characterized by skilled medical staff and high number of daily rehabilitation services we constantly learn, test and develop studies and technologies.

With the support of our staff and services, ETF students are developers of widely recognized robotics healthcare products and founders of successful startups.

Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties and Science & Technology Park are inspiring and motivating home for our innovative companies and innovators!
