The present questionnaire follows months of research and developments aimed at:

  • identifying and evaluating alternative business models
  • developing a preliminary business plan
  • Currently WPS activities focus on developing a consistent implementation plan for next year {2022)

    Among the alternative business models considered and investigated, we particularly focused on: a traditional ‘Central Agency model’ based on a central agent; a more innovative ‘Effort Exchange system’, based on a non-monetary currency aimed at boosting internationalisation; and an hybrid model based on a legal agreement among DIH-HERO partners and forthcoming institutions.

    Both the Central Agency and the Effort Exchange system have been excluded for opposite reasons: the first one because too traditional and heavy from an administrative and bureaucratic point of view, the second one because too innovative and still requiring high investments for the creation of a clearing entity platform. The hybrid model option has been instead preferred by the consortium because it tries to balance new activities that might be better performed centrally at the EU/ DIH-HERO level (e.g. mtk promotion / certification / standardization/ internationalization) with activities that will continue to be performed locally (e.g. testing) also for international SMEs and startups. Some aspects, such as revenues and costs of the structured and long lasting DIH-HERO network still need to be clarified, thus we would really appreciate your inputs and comments on the following questions.
