Testing and validating new technologies

Description

The scientific Institute IRCCS Eugenio Medea is a no profit Scientific Institute acknowledged by the Italian Ministry of Health for performing Research and Hospitalization. It is a national reference centre for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients in the developmental age. The Institute makes a practice of testing and validating new technologies, in case on human subjects, referring to an independent Ethics Committee for the evaluation of the research studies. Medea is certified by the Italian Ministry of Health for medical device development (up to class I) and prototype testing (up to TRL 9). Within the Institute, the Applied Technologies Research Area is also involved in the development and application of mathematical models for biomedical signal processing and supports the analysis and experimentation of data modeling techniques for a better management of patients’ data.
