Abstract

COVID-19 has dramatically affected gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy, imposing additional capacity constraints on already stretched systems. Colon Capsule Endoscopy (CCE) is a procedure utilizing miniaturized robots in combination with a managed service to diagnose GI diseases.

At CorporateHealth International (CHI), we have combined the CCE robotic technology with a solution that allows patients to self-administer CCE at home utilising mobile 5G networks. IntelliGI™ is a complete kit shipped to patients containing everything needed to conduct CCE with minimal risk for failure or burden on the patient.

End-users will receive equipment, training, and infrastructure to deploy the IntelliGI™ solution, removing the cost barrier previously preventing uptake. This will address colonoscopy demand and pandemic backlog, allowing for the effective triaging of patients, therefore reducing the number of clinical appointments and subsequent pressures to clinician time and endoscopy facilities. We will be utilising existing partnerships to deploy from hospitals in Denmark, Germany, Spain and Poland.
